Johan, Johan, Why Have Thou Forsaken Me
Fantasy baseball makes it clear just how much luck is part of the game. Yesterday, my team has three starters going and here are the results:
18 ip, 30 k, 3 er
Add all that up (almost 2 strikeouts per inning!) and the record for the dominant trio? No wins, 1 loss. Two of their teams did win, in extras, but the loss went to Johan Santana, who got outdueled by the Tribes' Fausto Carmona, whose name sounds like the main character from Culture Clash's version of Goethe's epic.
Indeed, such baseball disappointment leads me to make even more obscure jokes than usual. My team better start getting wins or I might melt into a puddle of my own arcanity (rhymes with insanity).

No sympathy for those with Johan on their staff.
Give me a break--it's not like he ptiches for the Braves or Yankees.
I love Johan!
My point is you'll get no tears from this corner when you have ther best pitcher in baseball on your squad.

Hey George, I bet you can guess which baseball team is my favorite... hint: they are the United States of baseball teams, with the most stacked roster every year, and the most world series wins of any team in the last ten years.
and yes Tyler Clippard looks like he could use that stuff that Jessica Simpson is always pimping on tv. btw, is that the stuff that they were saying made kids want to kill themselves a few years back?
Jami, how could you be anything but a Yankees fan--you have to take the imperialist route in all endeavors.
After last night's 13 K, blowout-win masterpiece, I don't think we'll be reading any Johan laments this morn.
He'll end the season as the AL's best pitcher again this year. The idiot sportswriters may not give him the Cy, but we'll know the score.
The Twins do need to score for Santanta to win, and they did do that last night. I'm never worried aobut him, but those 6 pts for a win really do help.
Still, last night was probably my best of the year--3 wins, 2 saves, 1 hold.
