Tea Fire
This iPhone photo from the street in front of my house isn't 1/1,000,000 as scary as it seems live--there's a huge, growing fire off in Montecito, maybe 5 miles (I hope) away from our house. The air is smoky and warm.Here's hoping we've got good news soon, but it doesn't look good right now. Friends of ours have had to evacuate. May the fire be extinguished before it gets anywhere close to you. Sending good thoughts your way.
George, I was gonna ask if you & Amy were safe where you. Glad to see you're five miles away.
(Not to minimize the others' pain, but you understand, I'm sure.)
KTYD radio station (http://www.ktyd.com) is also a good resource. It's nice to listen to ongoing coverage when your house is 3 blocks from the mandatory evacuation line. Ugh.
Those images are just plain frightening. I hope it's been more contained since then...
