That Yo La Tengo medley sounds great. What a collection of songs.
And with X, you finally get a little localized West Coast representin' to balance the usual Jersey stuff. Ever catch X live? I haven't, but I would've loved to back in the day when Exene still had her A-1 voice and looks.
Seeing the Waits tribute on there makes me figure you're counting the days until the soon-to-be-released Scarlett Johanssen all-Tom-Waits cover album. (And no, I'm NOT making that up.)
Mike--
I've seen X twice and the Knitters once, but the first X show was in the Gilkyson years when Exene was pregnant and they were opening for Warren Zevon (this is '86 maybe?).
The second X show was about 6 years ago, with Billy Zoom back in the fold. More fun in the new nostalgia world.
After the really good Knitters show, we walked past Exene in the front seat of a car waiting to go and she looked really scary--one of those, is that, oh my god, blah, it is moments. But she was great during the show.
RK--
Well, at least the cover of the Johanssen covers Waits album should be good.
