Petra Perfect Tense

How did I not know about this for 4 months? I'd be that happy, too, if I could sing that well. Nothing as wonderful as schlock redeemed.

If you think this is good—and it is—then you should hear what Petra does with much better source material. A couple of years ago, she did the whole of "The Who Sell Out" all by herself. Genius squared.

Hey, them's some pretty good avocado singers, except "south Detroit" is...er...Toledo. We don't like to talk about it.

Hiya, Al! You must have missed when I posted this during my big summer blitz of music video. I have seen Petra and the Sell-Outs do it live, and it's amazing.

Yet again, you bust out with a captivating band singling decent stuff...and I have never, ever heard of them. Ever. If it was a question on joepardy, I'd be sent home. If it was in Trivial Pursuit, I'd miss the pie piece. If...you get the picture.

If anything, you broaden my musical interests.

The Who cover you posted a while back had me thinking, "Why does her name sound so familiar?"

And then I learned that her father is Charlie. Duh.

Did you know Petra's sister Tanya married Jack Black?

Smitty, we're here to freak you out, I mean, please.

Bryan, yep, she's one of triplets and her dad is Charlie. And Jack Black is her brother-in-law. She was part of That Dog back in the day, too. I posted one of their videos this summer, too.

No fair. The That Dog video is gone, and I really needed to see it again.

She has some music that's available as a free download on her MySpace page. You don't have to sign up for that stalker's paradise to access it.

I think MySpace is German for "I posted photos of my Spring Break in Cancun to get back at my mother and father".
