Wow, it is weird that we came up with that same Archers song, George. One that, as you point out over at Tom's, we came by independently of each other.
My list is listenable this week. Not too special but overall not too bad either. Great entries from Eno and The Fields, and I like the Archers cut. But the Cub Country and the Haggard are kind of sad. Call it a wash.

Some variety, from mathgoth to punk to some great Ahab country to one of my favorite Califone songs. Interesting if not always compelling. Spent 8.5 hours driving a poet all over S. Georgia, and on the solitary legs, I listened to that Yo La Tengo Mixed Tape over and over, George. I love when it gets to the end, flips from "Yellow Sarong" to Georgia singing "Julie Christie." Yes, indeed. Thanks again.

Hey, I've got a Jill Sobule Xmas album that can go with that Esquivel disc!
I got a CARE package from ahab last week (and thanks again!), uploaded some 233 songs into my iTunes, have been playing it on shuffle all week, and have yet to hear even one song from the collection he sent me. Hmph. I guess when you've got 12,000+ songs on there, some get lost in the mix...
Marty, I'm really glad you like Roger Dean Young and the Tin Cups. I thought you might. He's different, an original. His style always says to me the word "shambling."
There was another band I liked from the Loose 4 CD from up there in Western Canada (I looked it up: Steve Ketchen & The Kensington Hillbillys), but they've got no CDs out that I could find.
Generik, George's gifts to me have been scarce coming up on iTunes shuffle too. I've started listening and enoying his stuff repeatedly but somehow I always get distracted after half an album or so. So I'm going to get in there and prime the iTunes pump with a few days of exclusive George-tunes listening. But the real ticket would be a road trip with nothing but George CDs.
