Arkantsas

Big Ed can get on my nerves sometimes, working too hard to be Mr. I Shoot Things Folksy Not One of Those City Lefty Liberals, but he totally nails things here.

If nothing else, it's sort of fascinating to see how much the Obama White House can disappoint.

  1. I agree on the folksy bombast charge, but I have to admit that day in and day out I'm a big fan of Ed and The Ed Show. It's on while I'm cooking dinner here, and what a difference it makes from The Lou Dobbs Show racist fest I used to force myself to watch at 6pm.

Yes, America, we have bombast too. And, oh, how sweet it is!

    wv: "realln," as in, 4realln.

  2. Not surprised that FDL picked up that spot, given their "love" of Obama (love of being critical of him, that is!).

That said...I like that guy! Does he have a web site and some archived posts?

  3. There are far worse people out there than Ed Schultz, ahab, I know that.

Smitty, he started on radio, then got a show on MSNBC. His site is

  4. I guess I'm a little defensive of The Ed Show, George. Jon Stewart, with whom I'm growing rapidly disenchanted, ripped Ed early on a few times, actually comparing him to a Rush Limbaugh of the left. Which, if maybe you dispense with morals and ethics and principles and facts and whatnot, makes a whole lot of sense.

The Ed Show's been on for a couple of years now, yet I still find it amazing that they let some regular schmuck like him talk like that on the teevee. (I've never been big on Olberman or Maddow, mostly because I don't watch TV at those hours.) But Big Ed's "Psycho Talk" on MSNBC at 6:25pm EST must make the baby Jesus just cry and cry and cry.

(Gee, maybe He meant that thing about graven images after all....)

  6. I don't have cable, so I can't watch Ed, but I would if I could.

As far as his commentary, I don't blame labor for going after Lincoln, and even though they didn't win, nobody wants to have to spend that kind of dough to defend themselves in a primary. In the end, they somewhat won. If it wasn't Ark, they probably would have won.

I also don't blame the Whitehouse for sticking with her. I think she is a corperate ass, but the WH had to get some votes from her this year and probably didn't want another Lieberman running around.

Fighting over labor money and targeting is a constant debate every election year. No story here.

I was pleased to discover new posts here. Great to be back!
